  • Tagalicious (currently in beta) is an iTunes tagging application that uses acoustic fingerprinting to recognise your music collection. I wrote the engine that powers this application.
  • Evom is a neat app that you can use to download and convert video between various formats. I wrote the plugin for the popular vimeo video-sharing website.
  • Rivet lets you stream movies, music and photo’s to your XBox and PS3. I’ve been working on creating both an iPhone/iPod-Touch and iPad client for this application.

I’ve also been spending what free time I have evenings and weekends working on an update to my book – which should almost double the page-count. As well as including the 2 chapters that were published as online-only content for the first book (we ran out of pages last time!), I’ll be updating and adding new content to cover the changes being introduced in the 4.0 release of the iPhone SDK.

“We’ve reviewed Conversion 2.2 and determined that we cannot post this version of your iPhone application to the App Store at this time because of inappropriate ‘Keywords’ used to identify your application. We cannot post applications that contain irrelevant keywords in their search criteria. Keywords must be applicable to the application content. It would be appropriate to remove fart.”

It’s been a LOT more work than I thought it would be, and I’d never have made it through without all the help from the great people over at Peachpit.

I’ve finally left my job and gone Indie in an attempt to concentrate on Mac/iPhone development FT – we’ll see how long my mortgage agrees with this new working arrangement ;-)

I’m also working on a book which is turning out to be way more work than I expected. I now have a lot more respect for authors (not that I didn’t respect them to begin with!)

After many requests, I finally got around to adding currency conversions this morning.

Currency data is downloaded from Yahoo! each time you start the app, and is available for 48 currencies.

The update should be available in a couple of days once Apple have approved it.

If I’ve missed a currency, please feel free to contact me and I’ll add it in the next version (assuming Yahoo! offers currency data for it of course).
